What time is the 14 October CPI release?

The official Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) calendar lists 08:30 Eastern Time. New York observes EDT (UTC−4) on that date, making the release time 12:30 UTC or 19:30 Jakarta time (UTC+7). The reference month is September, not October. Check the calendar again before release in case the schedule changes.

The latest verified comparison data

The BLS release published on 11 September 2026, covering August, reported headline CPI increases of 0.4% month on month and 3.4% year on year. CPI excluding food and energy rose 0.3% month on month and 2.4% year on year. These monthly figures are seasonally adjusted; the annual figures are not. They are previous readings, not September results or a forecast for 14 October.

Market consensus and September actual readings are omitted because they have not been verified. Do not put previous readings in the actual-results field or treat social-media predictions as an official BLS announcement.

Headline and core: compare matching measures

The BLS methodology explanation distinguishes the all-items headline index from the measure commonly called core, which excludes food and energy. Monthly changes compare with the preceding month; annual changes compare with the same month a year earlier.

When the report arrives, keep four separate notes: headline monthly, headline annual, core monthly and core annual. When comparing with consensus, match the reference period, unit and the time at which that consensus was recorded. A single headline cannot summarise the entire report.

XAUUSD focus: separate facts from interpretation
